we've spent some days and more music has been played...i love tennessee maybe most so far of where we've been...it's beautiful...we spent one night in the great smokey mount
ains and i watched fire flies before i fell asleep...the photo of trees and grass is where we slept...the country is beautiful here....one sad thing was i was driving and saw a dead coyote in the road and right to the side of it was it's lover coyote on the side of the road looking at it and looked me in the eyes as i drove by....we're staying really busy just driving and playing and missing....

robbed and rocked
we've had quite a time these last few days...first off...today in birmingham alabama our van was broken into while we were in a wal mart for about twenty minutes in the middle of the day...a lot was stolen including my holga camera and my i pod. it was a horrible shock and there could have been a whole lot more that they didn't steal....shoot...it's a real disappointment. anyway, leading up to that we've had the best days of the tour so far...after the houston show we had to get to memphis the next day at four so we left the show that night and drove to baton rouge arriving around five thirty in the morning...but it was really cool there were foggy bogs in the moonlight...we slept for three hours and then drove another seven hours to memphis...tthe countryside through louisiana and mississippi is so beautiful and full and green..we loved memphis..it was cooler and we started out at the sun studio where elvis and bb king and johnney cash started out..we had a tour and then they did a recording session with us all night..it was pretty amazing to be there in the same studio as those greats...and then the next day we had most of the day until the show that night to mess around in memphis...it was a great day just wandering around...we really liked the famous beale street with all it's blues clubs and blues history...really cool...went down and hung out by the great mississippi river...and out of nowhere, in order to void a large lost bet to joshua, nate said he would swim across an offshoot of the river...it wasn't the actual river but it was a long ways and he did it with us laughing and cheering him along....we ended the afternoon with shannon taking us out the famous rendesvous bbq place for the best bbq i've ever had!! we had texas bbq and tennessee bbq, both being famous for this...but memphis dry ribs won out....and joshua (vegetarian) even had the ribs and loved them, it was a great time...i really really love the south , i've always wanted to come here and i love the culture so much....we had a pretty good show at the hi tone cafe and then drove halfway to birmingham to spend the night on the floor of shannons hotel room...in birmingham this morning joshua did an interview thing and sung of few songs for a fox news special that we hope will help bring a few people out tonight....and then we were robbed...but now we're at a great venue and spirits are recovering....

austin and houston.....we pulled outta dallas and drove for as long as i could and pulled over into a rest stop and slept in the grass...it was a pretty good night's rest...then we woke up and did the rest of the drive to austin....austin seems by far to be the best of cities in texas....and we were so fortunate to have a fan purchase us a hotel room at the double tree so a few of us took a dip in the pool and we all got in a shower before the show....the show was at a really cool place called stubbs bbq....and they fed us the best bbq ever! so much meat was enjoyed...the show was pretty good they're were quite a few really die hard fans so it was fun and nice to return home to a hotel room...i shared a bed with joshua....we slept in and goofed around a bit and took off for houston...and that is where i am right now....we are touring around with lex land who is also on joshua's record label and how an amazing voice...and justin townes earl who is a great true old time country group....i was really tired during sound checks and all but got a tiny nap and am feeling a bit better...we brought in a bunch of tuna fish and made sandwiches in the dressing room and have been getting comments and looks from all who come within the wide circle of tuna stench...right after the show tonight we're gonna try to make it to baton rouge in louisiana to sleep for a couple hours and then wake and make it to memphis before four oclock tomorrow.....i'm happy and enjoying the road and not knowing where we're gonna sleep at night is a cool feeling...there is so much in the country that i've never seen and i love experiencing the different cultures around....it feels like we've been out here for a long time already...i think i'm glad to be leaving texas...

we've had some adventures here on the road....had a fun time in vegas and then drove for two days straight all the way to dallas...stopping to sleep in a beautiful desert in new mexico by the railroad tracks...next night we found a place in some fields in texas to sleep with an old shed and some trees..it has gotten really humid but i think i like it....texas is so huge..the land is so flat that it's like the horizon doubles in size or something it is huge...so we made it to dallas today and we were not impressed by the city...walked around a bit and there's nothing good about dallas...saw where jfk was killed..not exciting really....but the venue is nice and we got to order whatever we wanted at the resaurant so we're full and happy....it beats tuna....and we got a bath with a hose behind a seven eleven....it felt amazing

first day on tour!
we made it about forty miles into the trip and ran out of gas...but we were alright with the adventure and used the time to rearrange the trailer anyways...we made slow time to st. george and found that our show was in the middle of nowhere at some farm show place...it was so windy that it was quite uncomfortable but then settled down and quite a few people came and it ended up being an ok show....really pretty landscape...nearing the end of the night i became so tired and headached...but some people let us stay in their recording studio for the night and they had a ping pong table! so we all slept on the floor and woke up and made our way to las vegas....
